Terms and conditions. 

GENERAL

All policies detailed below are subject to change / alteration without any prior notice and are applicable only for products purchased online at www.thespeco.com & not for products purchased at any of our stores. Occasionally there may be information on our site or in the Service that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions that may relate to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, offers, product shipping charges, transit times and availability. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions, and to change or update information or cancel orders if any information in the Service or on any related website is inaccurate at any time without prior notice (including after you have submitted your order).

ORDERS

  1. Can I update or cancel my order after it has been placed?

Yes, it is possible to cancel your order within 2 hours of placing it. Please write to us at [email protected] or call us at +914844863003 Please note that your refund will take 3 – 4 working days to be initiated.

In case your order has been dispatched, it will not be possible to stop the delivery to the address mentioned at time of checkout. Please return the product as detailed in the ‘returns’ section below.

2. Can you add prescription lenses to my frames / sunglasses.? 

Yes! Please e-mail us your prescription at [email protected] or call us +914844863003 and one of our optometrists will get in touch with you to recommend the lenses most suitable for you. Please note, it is not possible add prescription lenses in certain types of sunglasses; if you’re unsure of this, please reach out to us.

3. I have a doctor’s prescription, but I’m unsure of what it means. 

Please e-mail us your prescription at [email protected] or call us +914844863003 and one of our optometrists will get in touch with you to help you understand it and recommend the lenses most suitable for you.  

4. My purchase is a gift, can you gift wrap it?

Yes, we would be happy to do that! Under the “add order note” section on your checkout cart, please let us know that your purchase is a gift and we will be happy to gift wrap it for you. Of course, there’s no extra charge!  

5. Are prices displayed inclusive of taxes?

Yes, the prices that you see on the product page are inclusive of taxes. 

6. I’m not sure if the product will fit me?

Please refer to our detailed Shape & Style Guide which will help you understand the frame size & shape best suited for your face type as well as give you an in-depth understanding of the frame dimensions.

7. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards / debit cards / UPI / direct bank transfers through our online payment gateway.

8. Can I pick up my order from your store?

Yes, it is possible for you to pick up the order from our store. However, please write to us at [email protected] or call us +914844863003 within 2 hours of placing the order. In case your order has been dispatched, it will not be possible to stop the delivery to the address mentioned at time of checkout.

9. I like a product, but it’s sold out. How do I buy this?

Some brands on our website namely Chanel, Cartier & Maybach are preview only. In case you wish to purchase any of these or any other product that is sold out, please write to us at [email protected] or call us +914844863003

10. Can I place an order over the phone?

Yes of course! Please get in touch with us on +914844863003 between 10.30 AM – 8:00 PM and we will be happy to assist you.

11. I did not receive a physical warranty card with my purchase.

Physical warranty cards have been discontinued by some brands. If you did not receive a physical warranty card with your product, it most likely does not come along with it. However, please write to us at please write to us [email protected] or call us +914844863003 and we would be happy to double check for you.

SHIPPING

  1. How much does shipping cost?

We offer free standard shipping across India. Your product will generally be shipped via either FedEx, Bluedart, DTDC or Indiapost (at the discretion of The Spectacle company by Darsana Opticals). It is possible to get express shipping; please write to us please write to us at [email protected] or call us +914844863003 with your shipping address and we will get back to you with a quote and an estimated delivery timeline.

2. How much time will it take to ship my order?

The safety of our customers & team is our top priority and the COVID-19 safety measures we are taking may slightly increase dispatch times. Generally, you can expect the following dispatch timelines.


Contact Lenses

Will be shipped within 3 – 4 business days of receipt of order for most lenses. Certain special lenses may take longer to dispatch.

Sunglasses & Frames

Will be shipped within 1 – 2 business days of receipt of order.

Gift Cards

Gift Cards will be delivered via e-mail the same day you purchase them.

Please note that if you have ordered multiple products together, we will ship all products together to reduce environmental impact.

In case your order is being significantly delayed, we shall keep you informed.

3. In how much time will I receive my order after you ship it?

You will receive an intimation along with a tracking no. once your product has been shipped

Within Kerala – You should generally receive you product within 1 – 3 business days of it being shipped.

Outside Kerala – You should generally receive your product within 3 – 6 business days of it being shipped

In case your order deliveries are being delayed beyond these general timelines, we shall keep you informed. Please note, delays may occur due to events that are out of our control such as weather, holidays etc. If this happens, we will not be able to refund the express shipping charges (if any).

4. Do you ship internationally?

Sorry! At this time, we do not ship internationally

5. I wasn’t there to receive the delivery of my product. What happens now?

If you weren’t there to receive your product, delivery will be re-attempted by our logistics partner as per their policy. In case they are not able to successfully deliver the product multiple times, they will ship the product back to us. If this happens, we shall keep you informed.

6. Our responsibility

Please note, we are not responsible for products lost / stolen once they have been declared as successfully delivered by our logistics partners to your shipping address.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

  1. Pre-conditions for returns & exchanges

Your utmost satisfaction is our priority. In case you are unhappy with a purchase made online, you may exchange it within 7 days of receipt to your address for store credit. The store credit does not have an expiration date. The days are calculated as the number of days between the date of receipt by you and the date it is picked up by your logistics company.

Please note, all sales are final and we have a no refund policy.

If you wish to exchange your product, please return the product along with a request for store credit. You will have to apply the store credit to the next product you wish to purchase. If the price of the new product is higher than the amount of credit, you will have to pay the difference. Leftover credit can be applied to any future purchase.

Sometimes, it is the seemingly small things that matter. Your dissatisfaction with the product might be due to the fit. We would encourage you to book a frame tune up  at any of stores where our expert technicians would be happy to assist you. You would be surprised with what a few simple adjustments can do to completely uplift your level of comfort.

All refunds / store credits issued are subject to a thorough quality check of products received back by us. Please refer to the pre-conditions for return below: 

Contact Lenses

The box(es) returned must be unopened & in original condition of receipt to you. We do not accept returns if the box has been opened or tampered with.

Sunglasses & Frames

i. Must be in an unused and unworn condition. 

ii. Proof of purchase in form of a physical / electronic invoice must be provided along with the return request

iii. All items tags, warranty certificates, product catalogues, usage & care instructions, dust bags etc. included inside the package must be returned in their original condition

2. What is the process of returning my product?

i. Please write to us at please write to us [email protected] or whatsapp us at +914844863003 along with a copy of your invoice and a photograph of your product. Our support team will try to make your return process as smooth as possible.  

ii. Once you hear back from us, please ship the product to the address mentioned by us.  Please ensure that the product is packaged in a manner similar to how you had received it, to ensure that we receive it and its contents in their original condition along with the original invoice.. Kindly note, we do not accept any returns at our stores for products bought online.

iii. We shall inform you once the product is received. Kindly allow us 3 – 4 working days post receipt of the product for a thorough quality check.

3. I received an incorrect / damaged product , what do I do?

Oh no, that shouldn’t have happened! Please  write to us [email protected] or call us +914844863003 and we shall arrange for the incorrect order to be picked up & replace it with the correct order / fresh product within 15 days. 

4. What If I want to return my product after 7 days of receipt?

Unfortunately, we do not accept returns after 7 days of receipt to the receipt’s address.  

AFTER SALES & SERVICING

  1. What is the warranty on my product & what does it cover?

All products come with a 1 year manufacturing warranty.

Manufacturing warranty covers the following issues

i. Missing components

ii. Delamination and / or peeling of sun lens coating

iii. Bubbles or imperfections in lens coating

iv. Premature flaking or deterioration of frame coating

v. Soldering defects

If your product encounters any of the above issues within 1 year of purchase, please write to us at [email protected] or call us at +914844863003 We will require you to ship the product to us for a quality check by our technicians. It the issue is deemed to be a manufacturing defect, we will replace your product or issue you a store credit. The Spectacle Company by Darsana Opticals has absolute discretion to ascertain if the issue is a manufacturing defect. 

Kindly note, we will be unable to entertain any requests for exchange or credit if the product has been altered / repaired in any manner by any third party.  

Manufacturing warranty does not cover the following issues

i. Normal wear and tear i.e. scratches

ii. Any damages caused by accident, abuse, neglect, shock, improper use or improper storage of product

iii. Damage caused by chemicals

iv. Damage caused by unauthorized modifications or repair

2. The product I ordered doesn’t fit me properly. What do I do?

We would encourage you to book a frame tune up at any of stores where our expert technicians would be happy to assist you. You would be surprised with what a few simple adjustments can do to completely uplift your level of comfort. 

3. I bought a product from you some time back, but it’s now loose for me, what do I do?

We would encourage you to book a frame tune up  at any of stores where our expert technicians would be happy to assist you & adjust the product for you.
